An exercise for you and your sand castle….

Monday, January 21, 2008 ~

The start of a new year is a perfect time to do the following visualization exercise, even though it is great to do occasionally throughout the year.

Imagine your house, apartment, condo…. whatever your personal sand castle is, completely cleaned out. It is empty and clean and filled with a beautiful, bright, warm light.  The floors are done to your choosing and the windows are done to your liking.  All that is left is to fill the place up with things that you love!

You now have complete control over what comes back in and takes up space and energy in your “new” place.  You want to bring things that are in alignment with who you are and what is most important to you, as well as things that serve you in reaching your life goals.  Other stuff… clutter, need not return.  Then try letting your house represent your life.  If you could choose what should remain and what energy drains need to go…how would that look and feel?

This exercise can obviously be more practical too.  Choose something a bit smaller than your home….. i.e. a closet, drawer, cabinet, or if you are up for a challenge… one whole room.  Remove everything and then go through the process of putting things back.  See how you feel as you touch each item and have to decide if it really needs to be there.  As we know… stuff takes up energy and space… not just in our homes, but also in our minds.

My challenge to you… start with something reasonable and see if you can make it more by making it less!

Peace,
